Why are these sooo expensive?!

I see the Heidi Swapp ghosts in the stores and wonder why they are so expensive. They are just plastic that is cut into shapes. Ahh, yes, they have Her name on them and not mine. Now it all becomes clear! No pun intended! LOL!

Well, here's my version.

I make them from TRASH!

That's right, the packaging to other goodies is great material for these little cuties!

First, I cut them apart so they are flat and will fit in my sidekick or Cuttlebug.

Then, I choose a die cut that I want to use and send it through!

Voila! Ghosties! Mimi style!

I like to add some sharpie colors to them to give 'em some punch!

I think you could also use alcohol inks.

Thanks for stoppin' by for a ghostie HI!

  1. GENIUS! Why didn't I think of that? I can't tell you how many times I've had a pack of those in my hand at Joann's, and then put them back because, yeah... too much $

Thanks for the great idea... love your blog!

  2. YOU, my best friend Mimi, are probably the most creative person I know. I'm SERIOUS! You can find ways to make stuff sooooooo quickly and it blows my mind what wonderful things you do.

Oh, and by the way, I love you and am so excited and thankful that you and Stampin Up! are going to be a part of our mission effort at 360 Church in Sarasota. There are no words I can say to tell you what that means and what it's going to mean to all those girls at SOLVE. You rock!

Come to Disney to play with me!

  4. Mimi - I do the SAME thing. It's ridiculous what they want for those 'ghosties' -- now I can have as many as I want :) I save all my plastics.

  8. I bought some of them when they went on clearance for .97 cents to go in scrapbooking packs for Christmas gifts. Wish I would have been able to get more for that deal. This is a fantastic idea! Going to try it when I get some plastic. TFS :)
