All in a days work!

I'm glad it wasn't my days work. The guys showed up at 7 ish and didn't leave till after 5. They put the entire roof structure up and framed the inside and added the doors and windows that we had. We still need one more window and the overhead garage door. I cannot believe that all of this has happened in under a week.

These pictures are pieced together to make panoramic photos. They have a couple odd spots but, you can figure it out.

I hope everyone has a fabulous Sunday! XO, Mimi

This is what friends are for!

On Wednesday, I had my last class scheduled, at Michaels. I don't know how many of you know this but, Michaels is discontinuing all of their classes with the exception of Wilton Cake Decorating and a monthly kids class called The Knack. That means that all of us instructors, accross the country, are out of jobs. Boo hoo! I tried working in the framing department and found that it is just not for me.

Anyhoo, I had 4 people scheduled for my Card Cafe' Class. I arrived early so I could set everything up. Just before time for class, I was wondering when the students would show up. You will never believe what happened. In walked my Mom and 2 of my very best friends, the 3rd couldn't make it. They were my students! They had signed up some time ago and kept it all hush hush from me. They even made up different names for the sign up sheet. I was sooo surprised and soooo happy. They really made my day, no, year!

We had so much fun. After the class we all went to TGIFridays for some lunch. What a wonderful day. I am so blessed in so many ways.

Here are some shots of my friends. I wish I had taken a camera so I could take their picture all together. The first pic is of Ms. Bea in blue and Ms. Judy in green. The second pic is of Ms. Pat and her husband and absolutely gorgeous granddaughters. I cannot find a pic of my Mom right now but when I do, I will post it.

I hope everyone is blessed with such wonderful friends in their life. I LOVE mine!!

Have a fabulous Friday.

This is gonna be a long one.

Sorry I haven't posted for a couple days. The only day I had an excuse was yesterday. I was in bed ALL day. I went to bed with a sore throat and sinus trouble and woke up feeling awful. So, I went back to bed after the kiddos were off to school.

I feel much better today. I am ready to play, as soon as I get some coffee in me. LOL!

Here are some shots of the room, as of Wednesday PM. It is huge! I took the picture with Katie in it so you could get an idea of the size. The inspector came yesterday and discovered that the masons, accidentally, moved the window in the garage side 4 feet. Yikes! But, after checking with engineering, to make sure it is ok, he passed us. So, today they are pouring the cement down into the blocks. This evening they will be putting trusses together and preparing them for Saturday. Then they will be lifting them up. I should have most of a roof by Monday.

How cool is that!?

OMGoodness!!!

Can you believe this much has been done in only half a day?! I can hardly believe it! This is a dream come true.

THIS took a WEEK!

Don't you hate it when a card keeps nagging at you? I know I do.

This card started out with a color challenge from another blogger but I couldn't get it to work. No matter how hard I tried, it didn't work. So, I made it and took it apart several times.

Well, this morning, I looked at it and this is what came to me. Simple and nothing like what it was supposed to be a week ago. But, I like it!

P.S. My yard is full of masons who are building my room! How cool is that. Oh yeah, if anyone knows of a quick and easy place on the web that I can make floor plans with furniture and stuff, please let me know. I want to start mapping it out.

Have a happy day! XO, Mimi

Guess where I am standing!

I am standing in my new craft room! Wa Hoo! I am thrilled! The cement block has been delivered this morning which means the workers will be here soon.

I have been waiting for 2 years for this day to come. I have looked at a slab of cement for the past 2 years, while we were so broke.

Very soon, in the very spot I am standing, will be a 24' x 30' room, just for me! I will keep you up to speed as it is worked on.

Have a fabulous Monday!

Happy Easter!

This is such a fun sketch that I got over at SCS. It is a great way to use up all of the scraps that are piled up on my desk! YAY!

That cute little ducky is a dollar stamp from Michaels. I love it. I colored him with my Copics and used some of the paper from DCWV Spring Glitter Stack that I got at JoAnns for half price! Sweet!

I hope that everyone has a blessed Easter with Family and Friends.

Dinosaurs and Crafts

Maggie and I drove up to Dinosaur World yesterday to meet up with my dear friend Leslie and her pug Nora. Dinosaur World is a pet friendly part and Nora seemed to love it. They were also having a craft fair throughout the park. It was great. Here are a couple of fun shots of our day together.

Enjoy. Have a great Monday! XO, Mimi

A Brand New Me!

What wonders a good night sleep can do. I feel so much better today. There is a nip in the air, the birds are singing and I am going to the grand opening of the new Kohls store with Judy. How Divine!

Here is a card I made for a design board for my Card Cafe' class. Doesn't he look like he is ready for spring?! I like it and hope you do too.

Now go have fun today! XO, Mimi

That's my Girl!

That's right, that's Maggie, doin' a little bull ridin' at the Arcadia Rodeo. Yee haw! No fear in that one, is there.

I didn't make anything today. I just layed around sneezing and caughing. I think Katie gave me a cold. I am completely drained of energy.

Well, I am hoping I feel better tomorrow since I planned to go to the new Kohls store with my friend Judy. Wish me luck!

Till then. XO, Mimi

Time for a ride

I really like this stamp set. And this paper has such a fresh feeling to it. This is an old SCS sketch challenge that I use now and then. I love the big circle.

Not much going on today. It's pretty overcast here. I think I'll go with DH to Sams and to Michaels.

Hope you have a great day! XO, Mimi

Monday Morning Blues

I got the Monday Mornin' Blues. Did I tell you, I hate the time change. Plus the fact that it's Monday and then add on that I have to take my daughter to the orthopedic surgeon this morning, which is 45 min. drive. Argh. At least I have my new car to make me smile.

Why does Kate need to go to the ortho, you ask. She got hit, in her good ankle, by a ball and jumped up and landed wrong on her bad ankle. Ex rays show bone fragments and they think she bruised the bone. So, off we go.

On a good note. Isn't this a cute card?! I am so in love with Elzybelles. I just wish I had the larger images. She is so sweet and easy to color. This one is for a design board for one of my classes which shows how to go from a sketch to a finished card.

I hope you all have a marvelous Monday. XO, Mimi

A Pretty Sunday Afternoon

It has been a lovely Sunday afternoon here in SW Florida.

Even though this is my least favorite day of the year. Why? It's the day we lose an hour. I hate the time change! But, I didn't let it stop me. I have been cleaning and enjoying the lovely weather.

Here is what the lovely weather inspired me to do. This card is so much prettier IRL.

I hope you are having a wonderful day! XO, Mimi

My Love of a Lifetime

This card is for my wonderful husband. It is a "just because" card to tell him how much he means to me and how much I love him. He really is my knight in shining armor.

The image is from Elzybelles, the paper is American Crafts, the words are from Stampin' Up! and I colored with my Copics.

Have a great Saturday! XO, Mimi

A Sketch to Try!

I made this card using a sketch challenge from Beate.

I love this bird from Always. The paper is Autumn Leaves MOD collection.

I am happy with the finished product.

Have a happy Friday. XO, Mimi

Just Because

This is another card I made when my friend and upline, Debbie, came over to play.

It's sweet and simple and, of course, my favorite color, pink.

I had forgotten to get it up on the blog.

Have a great day!

P.S. Wish me luck. I am going to start working out at the YMCA. After I pick up Katie, she will be crackin' the whip for me. XO, Mimi

Some Pretty Flowers

I rec'd these stamped flowers with my order from Eclectic Paperie. I don't know who makes the stamp but, the flowers sure are pretty.

I colored them with my new Copics and paired them up with some of SU's Berry Bliss paper, stitched ribbon and brads.

I know I copied the sketch from someone's blog but I forgot to write it down. Sorry!

Thanks for looking! Have a great Thursday. XO, Mimi

A CASE mixed up

Well, I set out to copy this card. I love the colors and paper and everything about it. But, when I glued the front onto the card, I did it upside down. Oops! Oh well, it turned out fine anyway.

Thanks for looking! XO, Mimi

P.S. Sorry for the color on this. I have no idea what happened. It looks really washed out.

My "First Ever" Brand New Car!!!

Well, what do ya think? I love it! It is a 2008 Scion XB. It has everything I wanted and more. There is even a place for my ipod to plug in.

The salesman delivered it right to my door this afternoon while my friend Judy was visiting. So, of course, we had to go for a ride!

I am so tickled with it! Thanks for stoping by. XO, Mimi

A fun and simple sketch

I made this card using a sketch from Kirsten. I think I stamped the Riley at her house too. Too cute! I am really starting to get the hang of these Copics. I think I am in LOVE!

Thanks for the sketch, K. Have a great day!

Happy Monday Morning!

Is it Monday already? Argh. This weekend flew by way too fast.

I love this paper from Stampin' Up! It's the Bali Breeze. The butterfly is made from the flower chipboard pieces in the catty. There's those dots again. I embossed them then rubbed over them with some ink so they would pop out. The little flowers are from the 3 flower punch that I have been wanting for some time now.

Well, I hope you all have a fabulous Monday! I have my first Card Cafe' class at Michaels today. Hope it's a hit!

Thanks for stopping by. XO, Mimi

Hoooo loves Dots!?

I love dots! I love these owls too.

I stamped them, and a bunch of other images, over at Kirsten's, last week. Thanks K!

These awesome dots are a new Cuttlebug folder. The ribbon is from Target dollar spot.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful Sunday! XO, Mimi

More Riley

Oh really? No, O'Riley! LOL! OK, that was a little dry.

This moose makes me smile! So sweet and chocolaty. Don't you love those pink boots!? Me too.

Well, thanks for stopping by. Have a great day! XO, Mimi
