BOO!

Don’t be scared, it’s just a Cricut project that I copied from the internet.

Aphra_Halloween-Mantel-2

As soon as I saw this adorable mantle decoration, I couldn’t think of anything else. Have you ever had a crafting moment like that? I knew I had to create it even though I do not have a mantel to put it on.

So, I began cutting the letters and little creatures and then I thought, I don’t have any picture frames to use for the project. The more I thought about it, the less I wanted to go buy frames just for this so, I started scrounging around the studio. Boy o boy, the things I came across that I didn’t even know I had. Low and behold, I came to these paper mache’ houses that I had purchased several years ago for another Halloween project/class.

I think they work great and I like that they aren’t picture frames. Thanks for stopping by, XO

"Create with the Cricut" Class

For the first "Create with the Cricut" Class, we are going to use the following cartridges:
George cartridge, for those of you with the original Cricut.
Plantin Schoolbook, for those of you with the Expression.
Don Juan, for those of you with the Cricut Create.
We will make 4 cards of various themes. You will get full color instructions with photos of the finished projects and step by step directions according to the machine and cartridge you are using.
You will need to bring a basic paper crafting tool kit and a Cricut tool kit, if you have one. You will also need a white gel pen and a black thin marker. I like the white gel pen at the local craft store by Inkssentials. It seems to not clog up like the others. For the black thin marker, I like the ones that are from CTMH or CM. They have a set of various tips in black. But, bring whatever you own.

The class is on Sept. 23rd 10AM to 1PM and Oct 1st 2PM to 5PM and the cost is $25.00. H2U members get a 10% discount. Please remember your H2U card to get your discount. Please R.S.V.P. by Sept 20th for the class on the 23rd and by Sept. 28th for the Oct. 1st class. Space is limited to 8 people per class. Remember to let me know what machine and cartridge you have when you R.S.V.P.

The Cutest Easter Card Ever!

I mean, really. Is this not the cutest bunny card?
No, I did not make it. I saw it HERE.
But, as soon as saw it, I set out to make my own.

Only, I wanted to cut mine out with the Cricut.
I used and egg shape from Doodle Charms for the
body and card and I made the feet and ears from two different ovals on Graphically Speaking.
I welded the ears to the body so they would cut as one piece.
The pink in the ears is the Stampin' Up! sm. oval punch.
The pink in the feet are SU's 3/4" circle punch and 1/4" circle punch.
The nose is from the SU Heart to Heart punch.
The eyes are SU's 1/4" circle punch in pink and black and highlighted with the white gel pen.

I just love it and cannot wait to send it to someone special!

Wall Words from the Cricut!

I have been so into my Cricut lately.
This amazing machine can do so much.
I have only just begun to learn all of it's capabilities.

Today, I made this vinyl verse for on the wall of the studio.
This is so me. Too much of a good thing is wonderful! by Mae West

What's Brewin'?

I have been playing with my Cricut and Design Studio alot lately. I am so inspired by the things that I see being made with the From My Kitchen cartridge that I had to give it a try.

This is a card I made with the coffee pot from "From my Kitchen" and the words are from "Hello Kitty Font". I love how it turned out.

There are so many cute pictures on this cartridge.

Thanks for looking! XO, Mimi

I'm a Slacker!

Sorry for the brief delay in posting. I had some very minor surgery done and have been busy, busy, busy ever since.
The card I am showing you today is one that I made for my dear friend's daughter, for her 16th birthday. It was a luau theme and she is not the real girly cutesy type so I tried to just make it look cool. I used the Cricut and the Life is a Beach cartridge. I accented the cutouts with chalk, glitter and a white pen. I was very happy with how it turned out and I am sure she was too.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Saturday! XO, Mimi

I actually scrapbooked!

I have not done a page in so long that I almost forgot how fun it is. The other day I got sometime and was in the right mood so I got these 2 pages done as well as a mini book for Maggie's 7th Birthday. Just in time for her 8th Birthday which is coming up soon. I will show that on another day since she has already taken it and I didn't get to photograph it yet.

The first page is the pictures from Father's Day dinner. I used some Making Memories paper and Thickers. Its a real simple design.

The second one is of pictures of a backyard fort that Maggie and her friend made. I used a plethora of different papers for the circles. The title is cut with the Cricut and the gems are Prima.

Well, gotta go get back in bed. I had a tooth pulled today and I am a little loopy. Thanks for stoppin' by. XO, Mimi
