Some Fun Cards for February 13 & 14

Since last week's cards were Sympathy and Get Well, I wanted to lighten the mood with some funny cards.
The First card says, "A little birdie told me it was your birthday." Inside the card, you see the cat, above. I love that one. The orange card says, "did someone turn the heat up in here...", inside says, "or is it just the candles on your cake? happy birthday! The granny in the car card reads, "Happy Birthday, you know you're old when...(inside) getting lucky means you found your car in the parking lot. The last card reads, "I don't have a problem with CAFFEINE, I have a problem without it. Inside is blank.

You will need a basic class tool kit with bone folder, adhesive, glue dots, dimensionals/pop dots, scissors.

This Week's Card Class

What a wet week we are having here in North Port. Too wet for me!
Since it's so wet out here, I thought we would try something new. Instead of having the class out here at the studio, I am going to try having the class at the Panera Bread on Tamiami Trail. It is in the same plaza as the Hobby Lobby.

The classes will be at the same times as usual, Thursday at 6PM and Friday at 10AM. You will need your basic class kit. Class is $10.00.

Use the Buy Now button to register for class or to purchase a kit. Payment needs to be received by Wednesday evening in order to ensure a spot in the class or a kit.

So much fun on NSD!

We had such a wonderful day last Saturday at our National Scrapbook Day. I wanted to share some of the lovely creations that were made. I love how they all look very different from each other. Just like all of us. LOL! Some of them were not complete yet when I took pictures. I can't wait to see the end product.

Thank you, my friends, for sharing this fun day with me! XO, Mimi

More National Scrapbook Day info, as promised

Here's the nitty gritty on NSD, next Saturday, May 4th. "May the 4th Be With You" LOL!
I will have a few different projects you can make. You don't have to sign up for all of them. You can pick and choose what you want to do. Or, if you would rather just come and enjoy the celebration, that's fine too.
The Studio opens at 10AM and we will play on into the night. There will be snacks to enjoy and water. Feel free to bring something to share.

First up is the Family Album. This project starts at 11AM and should be done by 2PM.
I was able to take more pictures of the Family album that you can make. There really is a lot of room for photos and journaling in this small package, with 14 pages that measure 4 3/4" x 6 3/4". Here is a photo of some of the pages and goodies we will be using in the book. Lots of yummyness!

I also have this set of All Dressed Up cards and box. This would make a beautiful Mother's Day gift! Cost is $15.00 and  starts at 2 and should be done by 4.
Next up is this sweet spring wreath. Cost is $15.00 or $10.00 if you bring your own grapevine wreath.Starts at 5 and should be done by 7.

The last project is a pretty wall hanging using the All Dressed Up framelits. Think Paris and Pretty! Cost is $15.00 and starts at 7 and should be done by 8:30.
If you would like to make any of these fun projects or you would just like to come hang out for the day, please RSVP by Wednesday.

National Scrapbook Day is Coming!

I told you a week or so ago to keep on the look-out for something fun that I am planning for NSD!
Well, I am finally ready to start revealing some goodies.

First up is a Family Mini Album using Teresa Collins paper collection "Family Matters".
This great little album gets tucked away in it's own little box to keep it safe for years to come.
All of the pages are chipboard that is covered with the TC paper and measure 4 3/4" x 6 3/4".
The 14 pages accordion fold and tie with a bow so they will fit perfectly in the box.
The finished book would make a wonderful gift or be stingy and keep it for yourself! LOL!
All materials are included in the cost of $25.00. You just need a basic class kit.

I will get more pictures posted tomorrow.

Next Week's Class Samples

Yes, I know, it's hard to believe that I am already set for next wee. I'm shocked myself. LOL!
I'm finally getting the hang of this weekly class schedule, thanks to all of the wonderful friends I have that help me!
These cards all showcase the stamp set Postage Due. Thankfully, this set is not on the retiring list. I ordered it shortly after its release and am just starting to use it.

Classes for next week are Wednesday morning at 10AM and Thursday evening at 6PM.
Cost is $10.00. A basic class kit is needed. If you would like to join us or would like to order a kit, please let me know no later than 10AM Tuesday morning.
Thanks for stopping by.

"Why you want to leave me?"

My daughter and I enjoy using that line from "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". That was a fun movie. I'll have to break it out and watch it again.
Well, that's how I feel every time Stampin' Up! decides to retire colors and bring in new ones. My initial reaction is always sad, like I am losing an old friend. But, when I see the new colors, I see why they feel the need for change.
This week's class uses some of those old friends that are going away. For example, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy and Certainly Celery. I will miss them but I'm sure I will become fast friends with the new ones!
If you would like to come to the class, please RSVP by Tuesday morning as I make all of my kits on Tuesday.
Classes will be on Wednesday morning at 10AM and Wednesday evening at 6PM.
The evening class is usually on Thursdays, however, I have other plans for Thursday evening so I need to have class on Wednesday evening.
Cost is $10.00.
You will need a basic class kit with adhesive, glue dots, pop dots, scissors, etc...

Pretty Butterfly Card Class

This week's card class features butterflies. With all of the spring flowers popping up all over, the butterflies are flying around too. It made me want to do butterfly cards.
There's even one that can be used for a masculine card.
Classes are on Wednesday morning at 10AM and Thursday evening at 6PM. Cost is $10.00. You will need a basic class kit with adhesive, glue dots, pop dots, scissors, etc...
Please RSVP by Tuesday morning as I make all of my kits on Tuesday.

It's a miracle! I have this weeks class ready to go by Sunday. I know, I know. Hard to believe.

It's just one of those sets that, if you live in Florida, you should have.
It works great for cards for guys and gals and is very versatile for all occasions.
Here is a sneak peek at the 4 cards we will be making.

Classes will be Wednesday at 10 AM and Thursday at 6 PM.

Spread a Little Love!

With Valentines Day approaching, I am starting to get a little lovey dovey.
I love this line of paper. It is not Stampin' Up! but it puts a smile on my face. Normally, my card classes are ALL Stampin' Up! materials. I wanted to do something different. I had so much fun making these cards. It gave me a chance to use lots of stuff that I don't normally use in my card classes.

This class will be held next Wednesday at 10:00AM and 6:00PM. The cost is $10.00. If you would like a seat in the class or a kit, please email me by Monday the 28th.

Thank you for taking a look! XO, Mimi

That's Not all!!

You asked, and we listened! We're excited to introduce our new, very manly stamping kit: the Dude, You're Welcome! kit.

Wiper Card Class at H2U this Saturday

This is the sample of the "Wiper" card we will be making at H2U this Saturday.
This card uses the new stamp set "By the Tide" that is in the Stampin' Up! Mini Catalog that has just been released. Living in Florida, I think this is a "must have" set. It is very versatile. It can be used for so many occasions and for male or female cards. It is hard to see from this photo but there are glitter accents to the front of the card and the sentiment pops up like a "wiper" when the card is pulled open.
This is a fun and interactive card. All supplies and envelope are included in this class. A basic class kit is needed as well as a score board. However, if you do not have a score board, I am sure there will be  one you can use, at the class.
You will receive instructions so that you can easily reproduce many more of these cards, when you get home.
This class will cost $5.00. and starts at 10:30AM.
Since I am the vendor of the month, I will have a table set up, with displays, in the H2U lobby with some items for sale and any Stampin' Up! items to order.
I will also have a free "make and take" after lunch. I do not have a photo of the make and take yet but I am sure you will be happy with it. *wink*

WCMD in Review!

Saturday was such a fun time her at The Paper Rose Studio. The mix of ladies that attended was such a nice blend of ages and personalities. Thank you, so much, to those that came!

Here are the photos of the cards we made.

We also made these beautiful rosettes using the Designer Rosette Bigz die and the Birds of a Feather DSP.
We also added some of the silver shimmer paper and paper flowers, ribbon and leaves. They turned out so pretty and each one different.

Then we played around with clothes pins and added DSP, magnets, ribbon and anything else we could glue on. They look so pretty on the fridge, holding important papers.
I also showed everyone how easy it is to make a wrapped fabric or ribbon rosette using SU's giant glue dots. It makes quick work of these fun accents. They took them home to add to a card or a pretty project.
In between all this fun, we had lots of free drawings for yummy products. We were all pretty well fed too with sweets and a nice lunch. I can't wait till next year to do it again! XO, Mimi
