Green is the New Black!

So, I'm a bit of a tree hugger. What's wrong with that!? And, did you notice, I'm still crazy about the squares? They are so easy to work with.

I love this AC paper and the ribbon was just generic. I like the simple look of it.

Well, have a Happy Monday! XO, Mimi

For Teacher

Isn't that dino cute? He is a Martha Stewart sticker that I picked up in my travels.

The paper is from the DCWV Grade School stack. I am crazy about this stack. I even decorated the envie with it.

That's all for today. Thanks for lookin'! XO, Mimi

BasicGrey at Michaels!! Woo hoo!

So, I'm shoppin' one day, at my favorite craft store and I see this great pad of paper. So, yeah, I buy it. I didn't even realize it was BasicGrey. Duh! No wonder it's so pretty.

Here's another eco button for ya. Yes, green is Sexy. Don't ya think?

All the paper is BasicGrey and the flower is Prima and the velvet ribbon is just something I had in a jar. Love it? Me too!

See ya later. XO, Mimi

It's a Gift. No, it's a Card. No, it's both!

I found these great little "ECO Pins" in the dollar spot at Target and just had to have them. I knew they would be great for on cards. Then I had a little creative slump and couldn't figure out how I wanted to do it.

Well, after blurfing some of my favorite blogs, I saw these at Kristina's blog. I was inspired all over again. I made a few and I will past them a little each day.

This pin is paired up with some AC paper and black velvet ribbon. The fancy square is a Cuttlebug die. I think I got the "believe" stamp form Michaels.

Well, thanks for stoppin' by! Have a great day! XO, Mimi

Reach for the Stars!

This is another card I made using some clearance dimensional stickers from Michaels. I think I bought them all. This little guy is so cute with the Cogsmo paper and a rub-on.

Well, that's all I got for ya, today!

Have a great day! XO, Mimi

Party Like a Rockstar!

Love this guitar from Inkadinkado! I embossed it with detail gold ep and it just shines. Yup, another square card. What does this mean? Am I feeling boxed in, is there some hidden meaning? Maybe I just like the square look. Whatever!

Have a happy humpday! XO, Mimi

Gotta Love the Dollar Stamps!

I love the dollar bins at Michaels. Who am I kiddin'? I love the dollar bins everywhere!! LOL! But at Michaels, for me, they are the .75 bins with my discount. So, even better.

I paired up this dollar bin spider webb image with some of last year's SU! Halloween paper, some Thicker wannabees from Dollar Tree and some more of the Martha Stewart ribbon. I think it actually glows in the dark. Hmmm.

I love how simple it is!

Thanks for peekin' at my stuff! Have a wonderful day! XO, Mimi

So Sad but So True!

Love this sassy saying. It's another one from Michaels. I paired it up with some Au Chocolate from SU! and some of this delicious ribbon that they retired. Boo hoo. Oh yeah, the scallop square is a nestabilities

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a great Monday! XO, Mimi

Inkadinkado, I See You!

I picked up this fabulous Halloween set at Michaels during Friends and Family discount days. I love the witch and the cool trail she leaves. I paired her with some paper from last year's Halloween Stack and some Martha ribbon.
I have been crankin' out the square cards lately. I guess I needed a change.

Oh well, thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend! XO, Mimi

Oh yeah, P.S., I just found out my brother's wife is pregnant. This will be their first. They just married a year ago, July. Yeah! Way to go Bryon and Vanessa!

Sorry for that brief pause!

Sorry for my absence. I have been busy with work and classes and personal life stuff. Ya know!? I did get some stamping done last night that I want to show you.

The first is for Maggie's teacher. I am using the Kim Hughes stamps combined with Junkitz paper for a perfect thank you to her. The sketch I stole from my dear friend Kirsten, here.

The second one is more of the sketch from a week or so ago. I used my new Cat's Pajamas stamps with some old SU paper. Love it!

Well, I'm keepin' it short! Have a great day. XO, Mimi

My current FAVORITE Sketch!

I LOVE this sketch!

I found this card while blurfing around and knew I had to try it. So, here are my 2 takes on it. The first one uses one of my favorite lines of Scenic Route paperalong with some ribbon from Stampin' Up! and a rhinestone star from the clearance bin at Michaels.

The second one uses the new Halloween paper from Stampin' Up! and a cute Frankinstein and bats from Michaels. The get ghoulish stamp is a Martha Stewart stamp from last year.

Have an awesome day! XO, Mimi

Christmas Money Holder

I got the pattern for this great money holder at Convention. It is super easy to make. I used the Wish Scrappin' kit for the paper and die cut elements. This will come in real handy around the Holidays!

Have a great day! XO, Mimi

A Clearance Card

Boy, working at Michaels sure has it's perks! As soon as I go in each morning, I go straight to the clearance racks. It's like little clearance elves have been working all night to make me some new items. LOL!
My latest find are all of Michaels cute little dimensional stickers. They are made by Sandylion and are every bit as cute as those expensive Jolees. So, I bought a bag full of them and started cranking out these cute little goodies.
Of course, this one is for Father's Day but there were many more and I will show you some each day.
I made the toolbox from Cocoa paper that I stamped with a Kim Hughes tree stamp to give it the wood grain. I also got to use those tiny little eyelets that I have had for a century or more. I am tickled with how it came out.
Have a great day! XO, Mimi

Cupcakes Make Everything Better!

And these cupcakes from SU! are the best! I started drooling over this set the moment I saw it at Convention and knew I had to have it. I colored it with Copics and paired it with more of the Georgia Peach. The colors in the picture are a little off.

Well, enjoy your day! XO, Mimi

A Fun Sketch Challenge to Try!

I love this Just Jawing set from SU! Way too cute! The sketch I used is from SCS weekly card sketch challenge. I love to do the sketches, when I have time.
I am using the new DSP Georgia Peach. I love the Regal Rose and Pink Pirouette paired up with So Saffron. The hearts are chipboard that I colored with ink and added glitter. I also added glitter to the bones and eyes.
Have a great weekend and thanks for checking in! XO, Mimi

What a FUN night!

Well, Friday night was the first Ladies Night Out at The Paper Rose Studio. It was a packed house and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. I think everyone even got some work done on their stamping or scrapbooking or whatever they were working on. I can hardly wait for the next one!
I am trying to plan them for every 3rd Friday night. That makes it easy for everyone to keep it on their calender.
This Thursday is my first Mom's Play Day from 10 till 4. While the kiddies are back in school, Mom can come and get some more scrapping done.
If you are local, and want to join us, drop me an email so I can save a seat for you. I have enough room for 8 people to be comfortable and spread out.
Oh yeah, and my BIG Stampin' Up! order will be here on Wednesday! Yippee! I am so excited, I can hardly contain myself. You can be sure that I will be stalking Mr. Brown after I get off work! LOL!
Well, that's all that's new. I have to go get ready for work. Have a Fabulous "Back to School" Monday! XO, Mimi

P.S. This is a card I made a while ago and forgot to post. I used My Favorite Things stamps, Basic Grey paper and Copic markers.

I did it. I took the plunge!

After going to Convention, I decided to try having a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator web site again. I had one a while ago and shut it down to have my blog. But, now that Stampin' Up offers on line ordering, I thought I should give it another try. Go check it out by using to link to the left, above my picture.
I will be tweaking it a little at a time so be sure to check back often.

XO, Mimi

I've been a bad blogger!

I am so sorry I have been so bad since coming home from Utah. I think I am finally back in the swing of things. I have had a couple classes since being home and they seem to have gone well. Here are the items we made in class. The class fee also included lunch and the new Idea book and Catalog.
I am off work tomorrow and Friday and hope to show off something new to you. Meanwhile, have a nice night. XO, Mimi

Happy to be HOME!

I am home from Convention. Actually, I got home Sunday evening but it has taken me this long to get caught up enough to post something.

Stampin' Up! outdid itself yet again. Everything was amazing. The classes were very informative and the demonstrations ROCKED!!!

And look who I got to meet! Yes, that's one of my favorite bloggers, Kristina Werner.
I just had to ask her to pose for a photo.

I am sorry I don't have more for you right now but I promise to get back in the swing of things very soon!

Have a fabulous day! XO, Mimi

Courtney's Closet Inspiration

I finally decided to play along with Libby's blog challenge. I just love seeing a new photo of her little angle each week. It is such a cute idea.

Well, as soon as I saw Courtney's outfit, I thought of this ribbon I just got at Michaels for $1.00 and have been dieing to use. But then I couldn't figure out what to put with it so I used this great sentiment from Eat Cake Designs. How true it is!

Well, have a wonderful day of rest! XO, Mimi

Only 2 more days till I leave for Convention!

Life is Good!

Sorry I have been MIA. I still have not been feeling well. So, I finally made a doctors appt. Are you happy Judy?! I love you! So I made this card for all of you out there who are feeling like giving someone the Razzberry. I love this stamp. She is from Eat Cake Designs and her name is Granny Gertz. She looks like she is gonna yell, "Where's the beef?". LOL!

Well, I hope everyone has a fabulous Saturday! Only 3 days till Convention! XO, Mimi

Back to the Daily Grind!

Yup! Today is my first day back to work. I think I can finally announce that I will be the new Events Coordinator at the Pt. Charlotte Michaels Crafts store. I am in training for the rest of the month. I am so happy to be back to work and have my discount back. I really missed having to be somewhere on a regular basis. Hope all works out good.

On to the card! I have never been a big fan of the sock monkey. After years of watching the Queen of Crafts, Carol Duval, I have grown immune to the allure of the creature. So, when Stampin' Up! came out with this stamp set in their preview, I was sure that I would NOT get it. But, of course, I saw all of the cute samples over at SCS and just had to have it! Yes, I am weak. Don't judge me!

Anyhoo, I hope everyone has a fabulous Monday! XO, Mimi

A Little Under the Weather

I have been a little under the weather lately. We even had to call off our Orlando road trip. The weather was so miserable and I was feeling miserable, we decided to stay home and try to prepare for Maggie's big 7 Luau party tomorrow.

We actually got a lot done in between me having to lay down to rest. Not sure what the problem is but I am gonna make a doctors appt. for next week to find out.

Anyhoo, I thought this card that I made with one of MFT's new sets was perfect for how I have been feeling. I colored with Copics and the PP is Basic Grey. I love the bright colors!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! XO, Mimi

We are off to Orlando!

We will be in Orlando for a couple days to have a little fun with our youngest daughter. She will be 7 on Saturday and we thought we would show her a little Mom and Dad time.

Don't worry, I am scheduling a few posts for you while I am away.

This is another Grump a Bella I though I would share with you all. I love the paper I used. It is from a large pad from Me and My Big Ideas. I got it at Michaels. The saying is one I picked up at Stampfest and it is so me! LOL!

Have a fabulous Hump Day! XO, Mimi

Not bad for an old broad!

Do you ever wake up feeling much older than you are? Oy, I am feelin' old and creaky today. I thought this Bella and a sassy saying would be fitting for my mood. LOL! I have too much fun with these sassy sayings. They just crack me up! You can tell that they were created by a woman!

Well, I'm gonna go and try to make these old bones stop creaking. Maybe I'll be back later with something younger! XO, Mimi

Hangin' with my favorite chicks!

Don't you love these Chicks!? I do. They are so much fun to play with.

Saturday night I got to play with one of my favorite chicks, Milissa. She has been MIA for most of the summer. But we got to play for a while. She even brought me some goodies. How YUMMY! I am so anxious to play with these adorable little penguins. I think these are some of the smallest scissors I have ever seen. They should be good for getting into tight little places. And, would you look at these great chipboard flowers. I bet they are from one of her kits over at Serendipity!

Well we are getting ready to go to Orlando for a few days of rest and relaxation. Yeah, right, we'll probably need to rest when we get back because we always have so much fun there. I love going to eat at Bubba Gump and Margaritaville! We are staying in a time share that my Mother recently acquired and is allowing us to stay at no cost. Cool, more fun money!

Well, hope you have a Super Monday! XO, Mimi

I wish I looked so good on a bike a bella!

Really, that's the name of this stamp from Stamping Bella. I think she is so pretty and I love her little doggie in the basket.

I colored the image with Copic markers and made the basket effect by using the colorless blender. I learned that from I Live Markers. If you color with Copics, you have got read her blog! Very helpful information!

Well, we're off to Softball practice.
Have a Sensational Saturday! XO, Mimi

T.G.I.F.

Happy Friday ya'll! I'm back with another
Penny Black image. I just love the little flowers
sticking to this cute little guy's quills. I popped up all of the flowers to give them more dimension.

Well, I'm outta here to have a great Friday! XO, Mimi

You Stand Out in a Crowd!

Yeah, another Penny Black stamp. I can't help it, I'm addicted. I love the ducks trying to fit in with the crowd of chicks. LOL.

This card is fitting for my day since I spent it with the chicks!

I promise to bring you some different stamps tomorrow!

Have a great evening! XO, Mimi

Cow's it Goin'?

I crack myself up sometimes! I just had to say that on this card. I am on a Penny Black Kick lately. I love those stamps.

Today is Tuesday, so, I go hang with the chicks. But, I may not be doing that much longer. I got a call yesterday about a job and I talked to my DH about it and I think I'm gonna take it. I only have one little request of them. We'll see what happens! I will keep you all up to date. Cross your fingers for me.

Have a wonderful day! XO, Mimi

Happy Monday, ya'll!

This sweet Penny Black stamp just looks like it needed the "a little birdie told me". It is so sweet.

I will have to come back later with some pictures from yesterday because our new member of our family is on her way here. Yup, that's right, we are adopting Zoey. She is 5 yrs. old and got a clean bill of health from the vet. We are so excited to welcome her into our home. I am sure she will be quite happy with us.

Thanks for yoour support!

This is one of my new Penny Black stamps. I have wanted this cutie for a while now. It is much larger than I thought it would be. It was so much fun coloring with the Copics. I am addicted to coloring, I think. All I want to do is color. I popped the bra up on pop dots to give it some dimension. See the close up photo.

OK, enough about coloring, today is Wyatt's Birthday party. Rick and Maggie and I will be heading over there to partake in the super hero festivities. Too bad my Elasta Girl suit is still at the cleaners. Oh well, I will just have to be myself. I don't think Wyatt will mind.

After Wyatt's party, my Stampin' Up! Sistas will be coming down to the Studio for some stampin' fun. Can't wait to see what we make. I'm sure it will be good.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. TTYS! XO, Mimi

Happy 4th of July everyone!

I love the 4th of July! We live in a small town and there is a small parade and in the evening, there's a Freedom Festival at the High School. The fireworks are the BEST around. There are sack races and pie eating contests and bounce houses. You see all of your neighbors and friends there. I love living in a small town!

Here is a card I made using a photo that my friend Leslie gave me. It is of her Father's Geraniums and it is a fabulous photo. I just had to use it for a card. I added a butterfly "Class-A-Peel" sticker. These stickers are awesome. I stuck it to vellum and colored the wings with Copics and cut it out. I added it with a glue dot. Voila'!

Well, I hope everyone has a fabulous day whether you are celebrating the Freedom of our great country or you live somewhere else. God Bless America and You! XO, Mimi

More New Stamps!

The saying with this set cracks me up every time I read it. I love the funky cups but the saying was the seller for me. The inside of the card says, in really big letters, SLEEP! I'm still laughing.

I hope to post later with something else new. I got a whole shipment of Penny Black stamps yesterday and a set of 36 new Copic Ciaos. I am really having fun today! Tee hee!

Hope you have a great day! XO, Mimi
