First Annual Christmas Club at the Studio

This year I am trying something new. It is Christmas Club at the Studio.

This is the perfect club for anyone who wants to send handmade Christmas cards but doesn’t feel like they have the time.
We will meet once a month during August, September, October and November to create 12 Christmas cards each month—4 each of three designs—for a total of 48 beautiful handmade holiday cards, at the end of the four sessions.
The cards will include advanced techniques, fun folds, and lots of Christmas bling! I will be designing a variety of styles and color schemes so there will be something for everyone.
We will be using the wonderful new products from the 2012 Holiday Catalog! Let me tell you, there are some fabulous products in there, like Core’dinations cardstock, new embossing folders and Big Shot dies, new papers, and of course, new stamp sets with matching Framelits!
Our club sessions will be on the third Monday night of the month. The dates are August 20th, September 17th, October 15th, and November 19th.   Cost is just $20 per person per month for the four month commitment. If you pay in full at the first meeting, you will receive a 10% discount.

Can you imagine having all of your handmade Christmas cards finished by Thanksgiving? Plus, you get to enjoy a fun evening out with friends, doing what you love to do, once a month!
  • If you are not able to come, due to other commitments or because you live too far away, let me know! We can also work something out by mail.
  •  If you need more than 48 Christmas cards total? Consider signing up for two spots! You won’t be able to get them all finished in one session, but you could do all the stamping and prep work and then assemble at home at your leisure.

Blast Off!

OMGoodness, this set is so darling. As soon as I saw it in the new catalog, I wanted it. However, since I have only girls, I didn't get it right away. After seeing so many adorable samples on Pinterest, I caved in and got it. I'm so glad I did. It just makes me smile.
I used a glimmer brad, lots of rhinestones and some Dazzling Details to make it sparkle. I also used some DSP from the new Holiday Mini.
Have a fun day! Thanks for checking in. XO, Mimi

It's Almost Time...

It's almost time to order from the new Holiday Mini Catalog. My goodness, there are so many cute and wonderful things in this book to play with. This is a little peek at some of the DSP and stamps and new framelits. Just look at those cute little gingerbread men. They look good enough to eat.
That's all for now. Have a great Monday! XO, Mimi

Little Friends

I made this card using the stamp set "Little Friends". I love the chubby little hands and feet on the cuties. I paired it with DSP called International Bazaar. I love the colors and vivid designs. I also used some of the new wooden buttons. They work great together.

So, speaking of little ones, I have had my baby granddaughter for the past few days and nights. Mostly just because I missed her so much. The last couple weekends being filled with softball really cut down on my baby time. She's getting so big, so fast. I took this picture after she decided that she wanted to sit in her pool and play instead of follow me into the house. So, she got in, shoes, clothes and all. I did get her sandals off so they could dry but let her play and have fun for a good while. Quite the personality, this one.
I hope you are having a great weekend with the ones you love, young and old, big and small.

Thanks for stopping by. XO, Mimi

We're Going to Legoland!

I am so excited! I have been trying to win tickets to Legoland all week, on the radio. Well, today it happened! Yay!!
As with most everyone I know, money has been tight.
We didn't take our annual trip to Disney for the Very Merry Christmas Party last year and we are feeling it. So, to get to go to Florida's newest theme park, for FREE, is such a big deal.
I listen to 96.9 all the time. At 3:00 they have the 3:00 Brain Freeze. It is a question they ask and if you answer it correctly, you win. Today they asked what most kids did for an hour more a day in 1990? I was torn between reading and sleeping but answered sleeping and I was correct.
I made sure that I sounded super excited too because I hate it when people win and they are just all, ho hum and act like they win all the time and it's no big deal.
Anyway, enough gushing. In honor of my good luck, I made this Lego inspired "Thank You!" card to show you all. Hope you like it.
I wish you all as happy a day as I have had.
XO, Mimi

FYI, The circles are 1/2" and 3/4" and the square is 2" x 2" and the rectangle is 1 1/2" x 2 1/2".

Softball, Birthdays and Eyeballs?

Hey there, I'm back! These past two weeks have been a little hectic with softball and birthday fun. Lots of hot humid sun and a little liquid sunshine, watching my favorite softball player kick some butt. I love this game and I love the girls that play it! They work so hard and seem to love every minute of it.

In between softball tournaments, we had time to celebrate my baby turning 11. We just had a nice family gathering at my Mom's this year. Maggie insisted that I paint her face, in case you are wondering what that is. LOL! Yes, I dabble in the face painting. In fact, this past weekend I busted my butt painting sweaty but happy little faces, to raise money for Maggie's team.

I finally played with some stamps and paper today. I love this set that is in the new Holiday Mini Catalog. I am having so much fun filling the little jar. This one, of course, is for Halloween. I like the eyeballs I made with some circle punches. I really wanted to add a tag that said "spooky treats" but couldn't find one. Oh well. It's getting late and I need to get to bed.
Thanks for checkin' in.

Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!

Today is my baby girl's 11th Birthday! Wow! It's so hard to believe it's been 11 years. She is so Amazing! This kid is an A,B honor roll student, an amazing Fastpitch Softball player and pitcher, the most wonderful Aunt to baby Farrah and has the biggest heart ever! So loveable and kind. I sure hope she stays that way!
In honor of Maggie's day, I used the You're Amazing stamp set along with the DSP World Spectacular. I also used the Apothecary Accents Framelits, ticket punch and some bakers twine.
Hug the ones you love! Have an Amazing day! XO, Mimi

The DSP Patio Party is a perfect pair! All I did was layer the cake and add the pinwheel and butterflies. No coloring at all. Now that's what I call easy!!! The ribbon is a new In-Color 3/8" Satin Stitched.

It's Happy Hour time!

OMGoodness! How cute is this set?! It, almost, makes me want a cocktail. Although, I do partake in alcoholic confections on occasion, I think it's quite early right now. LOL!
This fun card uses Marina Mist and Pumpkin Pie I saw the combo on Pinterest and thought it was awesome. So, I had to play with it. I also used the Apothecary Accents Framelits, Chevron embossing folder, Taffeta ribbon and Bakers Twine.
I really love it.
Enjoy your day! XO, Mimi

Moving Forward

This is the new Ronald McDonald stamp set called "moving Forward". Each year, Stampin' Up! creates a new set to help raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. For every set sold, Stampin' Up! donates $3.00. Together, we have raised millions of dollars to help children and their families.
This set is cute and easy to play with. No coloring in required. Nice bold images and crisp lines.
For this card, I used Pacific Point ink and cardstock. I paired it up with some DSP from International Bazaar, Polka Dot Parade and 1/4"stitched grosgrain. I even put our tiny 1/8" brads in the center of the tires.
So much fun!
Thanks for stopping by. XO, Mimi

It's all because of the Rhino!

My sweet little granddaughter loves a show called Bubble Guppies. We watch it all the time. I have hours or it taped on DVDs. Everyone in the family knows the songs and shows by heart. It's really very funny.
Anyway, there is an episode called "The Lonely Rhino" that I love. Ever since seeing that episode, I felt the need to get this set called "Kidoodles", all because of the rhino.
I love the rhino's bandage on "her" horn and her friend, the tick bird. Even Grammy learned something from the show. LOL!
I made this simple get well card using Kidoodles and the DSP Floral District. The coloring technique I used is with the Stampin' Up! markers and blender pen on watercolor paper. I also used the framelits "Bitty Banners", the Boho Blossoms punch and Large Pearl.
Hope everyone is well and I don't need to send it out anytime soon.
Have a great weekend! XO, Mimi

Talk "Birdie" to me!

I told you, I really like this set.
Here is another card using "For the Birds" and the "Polka Dot Parade" DSP. This one I kept really simple and mono-chromatic. The color is Rich Razzleberry. That's the beauty of everything coordinating, even the ribbon and button match. Thanks Stampin' Up!
I also used the Framelits Labels collection and Color Spritzer Tool.

Come back tomorrow and I will show you something from a different set.
XO, Mimi

Happy Anniversary to Me!

I just recently received a letter and pin from Stampin' Up! to thank me for working with them for 10 years. I can hardly believe it has been 10 years already. I love Stampin' Up! today, just as much as I did 10 years ago when I decided to sign up as an Independent Demonstrator.
Certainly, a large reason I am still with Stampin' Up! is because of all of the wonderful friends I have made and get to share my love of papercrafting with, like you!
I have decided to give away a free goodie each month to show my appreciation for all of you who place orders with me. Each month, I will choose a different stamp set or package of Designer Series Paper (DSP). Everyone who places an order with me, for $25.00 or more, before shipping and tax, will get their name in the drawing. At the end of the month, I will draw a winner!
You can place your order on line, through my Stampin' Up! Website, over the phone or email me. ALL orders of $25.00 or more, before shipping and tax, qualify.
Thank you all, so much, for sharing the love of Stampin' Up! with me.

The set I have chosen for the month of July is called "Make a Cake". This set is so fun and easy to play with. I like that you can add layers to the cake as well as the sweet banners and flags you can top it off with. It is a sweet set that can be easily colored or paper pieced and coordinates with the DSP Patio Party.

For the Birds

Hi friends. Sorry I haven't been posting for a while. I have been having lots of fun with my daughters and granddaughter over the summer. I sure hope you are getting to enjoy your children and grandchildren too. They are just growing so fast.
Can I just tell you that I LOVE the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book/Catalog. I have been having so much fun with all of the new sets and don't even get me started on the awesome new ink pads. They are so juicy and the coverage is amazing.
This card is made with one of my favorite sets from the new book called "For the Birds". The images are sweet and simple which makes them fun to play with and easy to color. I also love that they come with sentiments. That is always a plus when I am picking out a set to buy. I paired the set with some of the new DSP called Polka Dot Parade and the 1/4" Grosgrain stitched ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by.
Go and enjoy your summer. I promise to try to keep up on my blogging and show some more fun goodies from the new book.
XO, Mimi
