I actually scrapbooked!

I have not done a page in so long that I almost forgot how fun it is. The other day I got sometime and was in the right mood so I got these 2 pages done as well as a mini book for Maggie's 7th Birthday. Just in time for her 8th Birthday which is coming up soon. I will show that on another day since she has already taken it and I didn't get to photograph it yet.

The first page is the pictures from Father's Day dinner. I used some Making Memories paper and Thickers. Its a real simple design.

The second one is of pictures of a backyard fort that Maggie and her friend made. I used a plethora of different papers for the circles. The title is cut with the Cricut and the gems are Prima.

Happy Father's Day!

My baby Daddy has to work today, of all days.
So, we had Father's Day yesterday.

Maggie decided to make dinner using some recipes
from her new cook book. She wanted to make salmon,
fettuccine Alfredo and fresh fruit for dessert.

I stood back and took pictures and read the directions
and let her do most of the work. It turned out so
wonderful and delicious.

P.S.-IRL my kitchen is not neon yellow! LOL!
It turns out so bright yellow in pictures.
It needs a new color!

All of the classes at the Young Chefs Academy are really
paying off!

She even dressed the table and made up a menu.
Daddy and I were so impressed.

I forgot to get a picture of the cake she made before she
cut it up and started serving. It was very decorative. LOL!

Happy Birthday Milissa!

One of my best buddies celebrated her Birthday last Wednesday while we were out of town.
So, of course, I used that as an excuse to be late with her gifts.
Even though her and her girls came up to play with us at Disney on Thursday.
What a fun time we had!

Her favorite color is, can you guess, green!
So, I made her some fun green stuff which is both green in color and green for our earth.

The first is what everything is in. This sweet pouch is for on the side of the table when you are crafting. That's right, a little reusable trash can. More on that tomorrow.

Then there are 2 TO DO lists that I printed from here.
Of course I had to print them on some pretty green paper and then I laminated them so she can use them over and over again.

Then I crocheted (sp? that just doesn't look right) some nice dish cloths out of cotton yarn so they can be used and thrown in the washing machine and used again. And, of course, think of me while she's doing the dishes. LOL!

Then there's the card. I made it using some papers I had left over from when I was the guest designer for her club. The stamp is from Repeat Impressions and is a 2 part set. You see part one on the front of the card with a cute little birdy chirping a happy tune. But inside is a devious cat who ate the bird. Love it!

We're Back!

We got home on Friday, actually. I was just too busy unpacking the camper and I had to work on Saturday and yesterday was a day of complete rest!

I have been a busy girl though.

This is just one of the cute little things I have made since being home.

The paper for this card is from TPC Studio and it is full of bright colors, flowers and bugs. I love it.

I think it goes great with this Kim Hughes set called Fun Summer Trees.
I love that big daisy button too!

Headin' out for some family time

My family and I are getting ready to head to Fort Wilderness for the week.
So, to get in the camping mood, I made some "hittin' the road" cards.
This just uses a little set that I picked up at Michael and some K&Co. paper. I colored it with Copics and added some Crystal Effects to the road signs.

For the Best Dad Ever!

This is for my wonderfully Hubby.
This started out as a wooden cube approx. 5".
First I painted it and then added some SU papers, fun photos, buttons, stickers and rub-ons.
I really am happy with how it turned out.

I am sure that I know right where he will keep it too. He will probably have it on the shelf above his bedat the fire station.
He did that with the last FD book
I made for him and it's still there.
He misses us soooo much when he is there and likes to have things like this to look at.
Especially after a "bad call".
This is his 25th year as a full time Fire Fighter and he is due to retire in September.
With the economy though, I think he is planning on staying on for a few more years.
And why not, he's only 44!?
But I know he is tired of this job and all of the stress.
I love my hero! I hope he has a Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day Gifts

Yeah, I've been busy with the sewing machine and ModPodge.
It's almost Father's Day and I like to give sentimental and hand
made gifts to the "Dads". Today's gifts are for my Dad.
I finished 3 Harley Davidson Bags for him from a set of sheets I got on
clearance. I have lots more material so I am sure there will be more to come.
The little book is the
mini tab chipboard book from Maya Road.
I made the pages with a kit that I purchased from The Sweet Shoppe.
It is made just for this book so, after I drag my pictures into the
frames and print it out, all I have to do is glue it to the pages and
I'm done!
How easy is that!?
I added some tiny rhinestones to the pages and put it all together
with rubber bands and ribbon.
I love it so much and am having a hard time giving it away.
Boo Hoo. I am sure it will be loved!

A little floating cutie

I LOVE that face!

I spent yesterday building furniture for my daughter's room.
My hubby and I went to Ikea on Monday morning and made some fabulous purchases for her. We have been wanting to go for a while but decided to wait for the Tampa location to open.
So, we got her a bed a shelf unit and a dresser.
They were quite easy to assemble between the two of us.
We are so lucky that we work well as a team.
I could, totally, see my hubby and I playing The Amazing Race and kickin' butt.
Ok, back to the story.
So, we were so excited to get started on her room.
As soon as Rick left with Maggie, to take her to school, I started emptying her room into the rest of the house.
When he got back, we got busy! Building furniture, that is. LOL!
Then, when it was time for her to come home, I hid in the room with my trusted camera and waited.
Rick sent her in on the premise that I had been hard at work cleaning her messy room all day and she had better get in there and help me.
As soon as the door opened, click, click, click, I shot off these shots.
First the frightened look.
She said she thought I was probably throwing everything away, like I had threatened millions of times.
Then the happy and amazed shots as she realized it was all a big surprise.

My two new favorite blogs.

I have, just recently, found Zach Aboard and Soule Mama on my blog hopping adventures.
These are the stories that are told by two women who raise their children in a way that I envy so.
I just wanted to share them with my little corner of the world.
Maybe you will enjoy them and maybe you won't but you should give them a try.
They brighten my day with their adventures in home schooling, crafting and just good living.
I must be honest, I generally scroll through the blogs I like and look at the pictures of their latest creations.
Usually Oooing and Aaahhh.
Sometimes I read the supply list so I can recreate their art.
But when I get to these two blogs, I get comfy and sit back and read while having my morning cuppa joe.

Please, fence me in!

I have waited, rather patiently, for eight years.
Finally, There is a fence at the front of our property.
It is not complete yet but it is happening very quickly.
I will no longer have to tell people "my house is the one past the pretty fence and entry way."
Now, my house will be the second house on right with the pretty fence and entrance.
I am so proud of my husband.
He is such a hard worker!

Goin' Green!

In my sewing frenzy, I have been making green bags out of sheets.
These sheets are from Walmart and they were on clearance for $5.00.
I thought they would be great for making bags for Father's Day since my Dad loves his Harley.
I hope, since they are Harley Davidson and I made them, he will consider using them.

Little Miss Sew and Sew!!

I have been busy with some sewing projects lately.
With Mother's Day and Father's Day coming up, I thought I would make some gifts from the heart.
This apron is for my Mom but it is only half of the gift because I am making a matching apron for my daughter, Maggie.
That way, when she cooks with Grandma, they have matching aprons.
My Mom will love them.
I also got her a set of Copic markers. She will be in heaven! She's worth it!

Of course I changed the colors for my space and made it read time for coffee because to me it's always time for coffee except when it's time for diet coke.

Another Onesie

This onesie book is for Olivia, my Brother's daughter. Yesterday's books are for the twins, Cameron and Noelle, my Sisters babies.
I made them with paper that was similar but different colors since they are twins.
This book I went a little more freestyle on since Olivia is an only child, for now.
I wanted them to all be different and original like the babies are.

A Fabulous Weekend!

This weekend was awesome. On Saturday, Maggie and I went to St. Pete to a store called Whim-So-Doodle. Every year they have a yard sale where people get rid of their unwanted papercraft items. Let me tell you, I got such great bargains. I got much more paper than I need but, it was only 10 cents each. Tons of goodies and embellishments too. My Mom met us there and she was like a kid in a candy shop.
After that we went to the open air market that was just down the street. There were so many vendors with hand crafted goods and food goods, fresh veggies and fruits, a band and people dancing. It was wonderful. I had my first empinata (sp?). Yum!
Then we went to the annual plant fair. They had so many plants and trees at such wonderful prices.
Before going home we went to see my cousin Erika's house then out to eat at Cody's Roadhouse. OMG, it was so good and the bill only came to $50 for 4 of us. Wow!
It was a fabulous day!
Now for the goodies. I got these awesome little onesie chipboard books at the Doodle and I made them all pretty for my new Nieces and Nephew. My sister had her twins and my Sister-in-law had her baby girl. All last week. Isn't that awesome? My step Mom became a grandma 3x in one week and they are all the first grang babies from her children. I can't wait to go see them all. They are in TX so I will have to wait a little bit.

Today's Coffee Card

Today's coffee is on Dream Street. The paper line is Fresh and this design is Carefree.
Same stamp set from GinaKDesigns and rick rack from May Arts.
The buttons are a mix from different companies so I cannot even guess.
I mix them all together in a big jar and just dig around when I need something.
I think it's more fun that way.
