Happy Birthday to ME!!!

I LOVE Birthdays! I cannot see myself being one of those people who hide their birthday or age from people.
I love having a special day that people take the time to recognize the importance of my existence.
Anyway, I am 44 today. But, I would say that I am mentally 36. That's about the time I stopped aging in my mind.
Besides being recognized, if you are lucky, and I am, you will get cards and gifts too!
The booty is already rolling in. Just Wednesday, I received a beautiful card from my friend Bernice along with a really neat jar cookie mix called "spookies". I love the Halloween colors of m&ms in the mix. Thanks Bernice!
I also got this cute card from one of my dear friends, Pat. I hope that I am as young as she is when I get to be her age. Love you Pat!
And from me, oops, I mean Rick, I got this awesome coffee maker and a sweet variety of coffee, cocoa and tea. Thank you babe. I love you!
Well, this is only the beginning of my special day and I am looking forward to a fun play day with my friend Cecilia.
We are going to Ft. Meyers to check out the local scrap and stamp stores.
Well, I had better go get dressed. I will fill you in tomorrow with what else happens for me today.
Thanks for stoppin' by! XOXO

P.S. for those of you who do not celebrate birthdays, I am sorry...

I'm Back from Texas!

Sorry I have not posted since coming home from Texas. I have been super busy and also dealing with a sinus infection of sorts.
Enough whining.
I had the most amazing visit to Texas. I spent so much time with my baby nieces and nephew that I am going through withdraw.
I also got to help my sister with some crafty projects that she needed done. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures of them. But I DID take pictures of the babies! Duh!
While at my brother's, I got to spend a lot of time with my sister-in-law. That was super great since I had only met her one time before and really didn't know her. I am happy to say that I do now.
My brother and sister and their spouses are awesome and I am so proud of what wonderful adults and parents they have become.
I can hardly wait to see them again!
Well, here are a few photos of the angels. That's me with Olivia, me with the twins and me with my brother, sister and Olivia. Have a wonderful Thursday!

Oh, by the way, my baby niece, Olivia, is in some sort of casting call for Baby Gap. If you have the time to register and vote for her, I would be so thankful. The link is HERE. You can vote once daily and after you register, you just sign in to vote. Thanks again for you time!

My last Chic Boutique card, for now.

I saved the best for last. This one is my favorite of all of the ones I made. I'm not sure if it's the flower or all of the bling. Maybe both!

Well, I probably won't post again until after I get back in town so, stay sweet. XO, Mimi

I'm leavin' on a jet plane...

By the time you read this, I should be well on my way to Dallas, Texas to see my sister, brother, their spouses and some sweet babies! I am so excited to see them. It has been a couple years since we last saw each other.
I am going all by myself. No husband, no children, just me. I know I am going to miss the heck out of my wonderful husband and kids but this is time for me to be able to be with my brother and sister and just be ME. Not Mom or wife.
So, the next few posts are scheduled for while I am gone so, don't worry if there is not much "talking" going on. Just cute cards!

I LOVE this card. All of the cups are paper pieced with Basic Grey paper and the sentiment is on top of one of my new label nestabilities. Ther are some pearls on the label too. This card is SO me! LOL!

Have a great day! XO, Mimi

Merci!

Another pretty card from Chic Boutique.
I love paper piecing with this set. It really looks pretty with the dress form.

Can't tell too much from the picture but I used my glitter markers on the fringe and the stand.

Have a sweet day. Off to Texas in the morning! Woo Hoo! XO, Mimi

Coffee with a Friend

Not a single stamp used on this card. Can you believe it? Well, I am sure I will stamp a sentiment on the inside.

This is paper that I have had for several years and had always liked but never cut into it. I love the soft tones and the sketchy look to the pictures. This would make a great "Hi, how ya' doin'?" card.

Have a nice day! XO, Mimi

Chic Boutique

Hi friends, sorry I have been missing for a few days. I have been busy getting ready for a card class that I have tomorrow and getting everything ready for my trip to Texas.

This cute card is one that I made last week in an attempt to make a bunch of cards with this set that I love and had to have but had not inked until now. I'm sure nobody knows what that's like. LOL! Plus, I wanted to use the fabulous paper from the new catalog. I had ordered 3 packs because I just knew I would use it but had yet to cut into it.

Anyway, I did make several cards with the set and the paper and new ribbons and in colors. I will be showing them to you over the next few days.

Can you see the tiny little rhinestones on the fringe? They are so small and beautiful. I just got them and knew they would work perfectly for this card.

Oh well, thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day! XO, Mimi

On a Halloween Kick!

I have been busy making Halloween cards lately.
I pulled out my Halloween Inspiration Station and was so inspired, I had to create something spooky.
I got the idea for an Inspiration Station from Michelle Wooderson quite a while ago.
Now I have one for Halloween, Christmas and Valentines Day.
They are very helpful when you need to get those creative juices flowing in a particular direction.

Anyway, here is one of my latest creations. I used some dimensional stickers I found. They really are so cute.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day! XO, Mimi

Hey, What's Cooking?

I got new rubber and paper yesterday and had to play.
Even though I was supposed to be cleaning and doing laundry.
Ha! How can a person clean and do laundry with the smell of
fresh rubbah coming from the priority mail box on the counter?
Obviously, I cannot! LOL!

I made this cutie with some new October Afternoon
Early Bird paper and the stamps are from Hero Arts.
The ribbon is from Papertrey and the charm is from
Karen Foster. The coloring matches the paper much
better IRL.
Oh well, I like it!

BTW, there is a free jewelery demo at Michaels on Saturday
from 1 to 3. Please come and keep me company, if you live locally.
If you don't live locally, go to your nearest Michaels and keep
their demo gal company.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend. XO, Mimi

Another Banner Day!

Another Banner Day! This one I made with Basic Grey paper and used more pink than I used on Maggie's I love it and I am hooked on chipboard right now. I put this up on ebay to see if anyone would buy it. Of course I would put whatever name on it that they want. If it doesn't sell, I am going to give it to my new baby niece Olivia who I am going to meet on the 19th when I go to Texas. I am sure she will love it.

A Cuppa Joe!

Something just moved me to make this yesterday. I don't know why. I came across these 4x4 canvases that I had in a box and these awesome little spoons and it all just came to me. It took longer for the glue gun to heat up than it did to paint the picture. It is more of a mustard color than it appears in the photo. Don't know what I'll do with it. Maybe hang it in my kitchen with all of the other coffee paraphernalia.
Hope you have a great Wednesday! Thanks for stoppin' by! XO, Mimi

Happy Monday Morning

This is how I spent my Sunday afternoon.
I saw this awesome banner and knew I had to make one.
I would have been much happier making it in shades of pink
but, Maggie has changed her favorite color to blue.
So, since it is for her, I decided to make it with her
colors in mind.
I LOVE how it turned out. I wish I had a picture
of her face when I gave it to her. She was so thrilled with it.
That makes it all worth it!
Thanks for stopping by. Have a happy Monday. XO, Mimi

Third Time's a Charm!

Ok, this is the last tri fold card, for this week.
I just love them and they are soooo easy!
This card is for my friend's husband. His B-Day was Saturday
so, hopefully he has already seen it and likes it.
The paper is from Basic Grey. Remember Skate Shoppe
and Lollipop Shoppe? I loved those lines!
I still have a few sheets left and I use them sparingly.
Thanks for checkin' it out. XO, Mimi

Boo! Boo Who?

Don't cry, it's just another tri fold card! LOL!
Well, I thought it was funny!
More AC paper. I love their paper!
This time I added some glitter chipboard from AC as well.
The letters, on the inside, are from Target Dollar spot.
Have a great "Hump Day! XO, Mimi

Tri Fold Cards

I found these awesome tri fold cards and envelope packs at Michaels and thought, "I can do somethin' cool with them."
So I did.
This card has American Crafts paper and a stamp set from TPC Studio.
You know how I love coffee stamps. *wink*
It was super easy to make.
I just covered the first two panels with the AC paper and then I cut the windows with my Nestabilities and Voila!
Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy! LOL!
Thanks for stoppin' by! XO, Mimi

Too Funny to not post.

Friday night, my friends came over to play in The Studio.
We always have lots of creative fun.
Especially when Jello Shots are involved.
Well, the last of them didn't leave till around 1:30am.
This is what happens to me at 1:30am after a night of Jello shots and paper crafting.
That's right, I grow a mustache! LOL!
Have a great "First day of School". WaHoo!

P.S. I made the pic small so I wouldn't scare anyone too bad.

Scrapbook in a day!

I made this cute little scrapbook for my friend's daughter to show the photos that I took at her Sweet 16th party. Hope she likes it.
The album I picked up in the clearance bin at Michaels for $1.99 and the paper is BoBunny from Serendipity Kits. The ribbon is a little bit of everything but my favorite is the glitter! I love glitter!
Well, I have to do a demo on the Cricut and Your Story at work today so, see you soon. Have a great Sunday! XO, Mimi

The Card Cafe' Debut

What a great workshop! Yesterday, was the debut of a workshop that I call Card Cafe'. It is an "all you can make" buffet. I pulled out lots of fun embellishments, papers, cards and envelopes, ribbons, stamped images, stickers, flowers, stamps, inks, punches, etc. You get the idea? Everyone had such a great time creating fabulous works of art. These are a few of the pictures that I took of their work and of the buffet table.

Feeding the Fishies

Yes, I really did scrap another page.

These are more photos from our trip to The Keys.
This is at a place called Robbies where you get to feed the HUGE tarpon. They jump and swim on top of each other to get to the food. It is really fun to watch. The kids really loved it. I think everyone got in on the action but me. I was happy standing back snapping pictures. That is, until my batteries died. Argh!

Thanks for looking. Have a fabulous Friday! XO, Mimi

What's all the hype about chandeliers?

I really don't know why chandeliers are so "IN" right now but I have tried to fight the urge until I found a nice little set at Michaels with several different chandeliers. Low and behold, while blurfing,(blog surfing), I came accross this beautiful card and couldn't wait to make my own version. I think it is very pretty. Happy Thursday. XO, Mimi

Playdate scrappy page

A couple weeks ago, Maggie had a playdate with a little girl that she has known since pre-school. They haven't seen each other since they started elementary school. When they were in pre-school, they were inseperable and so adoreable.
When Mags started summer camp, she came home one day and told me that Jenna was there and they are best bugs again.
I was so excited and just couldn't wait for them to get together and play.

I hope they are friends for a very long time.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great hump day! XO, Mimi

Let's Do Coffee!

I love coffee and anything to do with coffee. These chipboard coffee cups are a favorite of mine. They come on a chain from Maya Road so you can use them as a book but I like to use them individually on things.
This card was so much fun to make. I just dug through my scraps and came out with what you see. I honestly don't know the names of the different papers since they are just scraps but they looked fun when I put them together. The letters are from Michaels and they are just $1.00 so I feel free to use them up!
Hope you enjoyed coffee with me and Have a great day! XO, Mimi

My first CLEAR card

I have seen so many people making these great clear cards with transparency material and I finally decided to give it a try.
Super easy to do. I just ran my paper through the Xyron so that the adhesive wouldn't be ugly on the other side.
I used some KI Memories paper, that I have had for a while, along with some buttons, bling and Primas. I am thrilled with the end result and intend to make more soon.
Happy Monday to you and come back tomorrow for coffee! XO, Mimi

Love those vintage BINGO cards!

I saw a card like this on one of the blogs that I surf and decided it was time for me to print up some vintage BINGO cards. So, I hit the Google button and started searching for some pictures. When I found what I like, I printed some up on cardstock and made this little gem.
I love how it turned out!
Oh, and by the way, I made the crochet flower too!
I have been crocheting up a bunch of them.
They are so easy and fun to make.
I have started carrying my needle and thread with me so that I can do them anytime I am sitting and waiting with nothing to do.
Thanks for looking. Hope you have a relaxing Sunday! XO, Mimi

I'm a Slacker!

Sorry for the brief delay in posting. I had some very minor surgery done and have been busy, busy, busy ever since.
The card I am showing you today is one that I made for my dear friend's daughter, for her 16th birthday. It was a luau theme and she is not the real girly cutesy type so I tried to just make it look cool. I used the Cricut and the Life is a Beach cartridge. I accented the cutouts with chalk, glitter and a white pen. I was very happy with how it turned out and I am sure she was too.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Saturday! XO, Mimi
