It's about time!

I have decided that today is the day that I will learn how to use PSE6.
My DH purchased this wonderful program for me a couple years ago and I have pretty much fumbled around on it with very little success and very much frustration ever since.
I have several different digital scrapbooking programs.
Most important of them is Stampin' Up's My Digital Studio since I am a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.
As soon as it came out, I had to get it, so I had it. But, have I used it?
Not so much.
Well, today is the day that I am going to start getting a grasp on all of this digital stuff.
In the course that I am taking, my homework is to share my first page.
So, here is my homework.
All of the elements are from the course that I am taking.
As soon as I gain my confidence, I will make pages with SU's MDS and I will post them.
Thank you for stopping by and checking out my homework.

The view from the Top of Mt. Everest

I was just watching the photos on my screen saver and this one came across and I thought I should share it with my friends.
This photo was taken while at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
I was riding the Expedition Everest coaster.
My family won't do rides with me so, I have to go alone.
No problem. I make friends in line all of the time.
I usually wait for the front seat or back seat, depending on the ride and which is going to give the biggest thrill.
It is so worth it. Anyway, I had my camera around my neck, as I usually do when we are at a park, and I thought it would be cool to snap a picture during the pause at the top of the ride.
I think it turned out pretty cool.
This is a fun ride. The last picture is taken from a spectator's view as the riders swoosh by.
Not the best one but probably the best Disney one so far.
I take that back, the Aerosmith coaster is the best Disney coaster and this is second.
Still waiting to ride the Rip Rockin' Coaster at Universal.
It is always shut down when we go there.
Argh! So, I ride The Hulk. Which is an awesome coaster too. Oh well, thanks for stopping by.
More crafty stuff tomorrow.

Talk dirty to me

Dirty laundry, that is. LOL!
I love these stamps and the funny saying that come with them.
There are so many cute pictures and funny stuff like:
"Don't give me any Static!"
"Feelin' Dirty?"
"Wanna take a spin?"
"When I said "I Do" I didn't mean laundry..."
There are plenty more too.

Have a happy day! XO, Mimi

The Cutest Easter Card Ever!

I mean, really. Is this not the cutest bunny card?
No, I did not make it. I saw it HERE.
But, as soon as saw it, I set out to make my own.

Only, I wanted to cut mine out with the Cricut.
I used and egg shape from Doodle Charms for the
body and card and I made the feet and ears from two different ovals on Graphically Speaking.
I welded the ears to the body so they would cut as one piece.
The pink in the ears is the Stampin' Up! sm. oval punch.
The pink in the feet are SU's 3/4" circle punch and 1/4" circle punch.
The nose is from the SU Heart to Heart punch.
The eyes are SU's 1/4" circle punch in pink and black and highlighted with the white gel pen.

I just love it and cannot wait to send it to someone special!

Old Guys Rule

I found this paper and matching stickers at a LSS and had to have it for guy cards. I love the sayings that are one 'em. I think the old guys in my life will love the good humor in the cards and appreciate that I think they're cool!

Some cute cards and a funeral

Sorry for my absence. Just haven't been in the mood to blog for a while. No real reason, just lazy I guess.

I have been busy with my cards though.
Here are a couple of cards that I made recently.
I love the colors and embellishments.
I think they turned out so cute.
I have started making some cards without a stamped
or colored image on it so that I can add that when
I need the card. Then, when I color the stamped
image, I will know exactly what colors to use.

On a sadder note, we had a death in our family.
My daughter's hermit crab, Bob, has passed.
We had a little funeral and buried him in the back woods.
Mags cried and I said some words to guide him on his journey.
Mags also made him a lovely flower to mark his grave.

That's all for now. I hope to not be absent for so long this time.
Thank you for stopping by!

Today is my Baby's 19th Birthday!

Oh my goodness.
I cannot believe that it has been 19 years since I gave birth to her.
This little girl changed my life, forever.
Look at her now.
All grown up but still my little girl.
Happy Birthday baby!

PS- sorry for the poor quality photo. It is a 19 year old Polaroid. LOL!

More booty from CHA

't love

Can you believe the piles of products that I had to ship home after CHA?
The things I am showing you today are from the Heidi Swapp booth at the Super Show before CHA.
The majority of the products at her booth were .99 each or 3 for $2.49.
I was just a grabby girl. I mean, who doesn't love .99 bling and jumbo flowers? And that box of giant playing cards, yup, .99. My other favorite booth at the show was the booth with $1.00 bling. I bought a pile ther too. I hope I have enough to last me till next time. Hmmm.
Ok, quit drooling and get back to your other blogs or get back to what you need to do today.
Thank you, so much, for checking in with me.

All we need is LOVE

Today was not the most productive day.
I started off trying to hang out with some of my peeps and get some samples done for an event this Saturday.
That was quickly thwarted by a phone call from the school nurse of my daughter's school.
Mags was not feeling well and wanted to come home.
So, I packed my things and off I went to pick her up and get her fed and comfy on the couch.
Then I started to work on this lovely little LOVE hanger.
I saw this cutie while blurfing this morning and fell in love with it.
I had to make one for myself.
I am such a sucker for chipboard pretties.
Is it any wonder that Maya Road is one of my favorite companies.
Then it was off to the doctors, dinner, bath time.
Whew. Well, that's all for now.
Maybe I will have more CHA goodies for tomorrow.
Thanks for checkin' in.

More Tim Holtz photos

Here are some more photos of the Tim Holtz stuff that I got. BTW, the flower with the Q in the middle and the bee charm was a free make and take at the Ranger booth with Tim Holtz.
Cool, huh?
The other goodies are products that I purchased at the Super Show, which was before CHA. Yummy!

More on CHA

While I
was at CHA, I had the honor of taking a Tim Holtz class.
It was pure luck.
All of the classes were full and I was watching the monitor in hopes that something would open up.
All of a sudden, from behind me, I hear someone asking if anyone would like to buy a ticket to the Tim Holtz class. Wow! Really? I never expected there to be "ticket scalpers" at CHA. LOL! So, of course, I snatched it up, as the class was starting in under 30 min., and darted off to await my place in the class.
Now, I must be honest, I have always admired Tim's artwork but have never been, what you might call, a groopie.
But, after taking his class, I am hooked.
It was one of the most organized and informative classes I have ever taken.
I was very impressed with the way he teaches and handles even the most difficult of attendees. He is very easy to relate to and he is so nice.

Take a look at the beautiful framed art that we made with his products.
I love it.
And, not only did we make this beautiful piece of art but we also walked away with an amazing amount of products.
The "piece de resistance" was the signed copy of his new book.
WOW!
Love, love, love it!
Thank you, so much, for stopping by.
More on Monday.

Where have I been?

Well, let me tell you. I have been a busy bee.
I just got back from California and the huge CHA show.
It was amazing!
I could never have dreamed of so many crafty and beautiful things under one roof.
I got to make so many pretty crafts and meet so many beautiful people.
One of the wonderful people that I got to meet was Vicki Chrisman.
I have been following her blog for over 2 years now and I love all of her beautiful works of art as well as her stories of her travels.
She is such a sweet person and blew me away when she asked ME to have her picture taken together. Oh my!
I LOVE her new die cut that she designed. She even gave me a couple of the cut outs and some of the Crafty Secrets Creative Scraps.
Look what I made with the little pug that was on there.
Cute, but it's not black like my Zoe.
Kinda looks like my friend's pug.
I promise to show you more in the next few days.
Thanks for stopping by. XO, Mimi

What did you do today?

Ya wanna know what I did today? On January 6th?
I made Christmas Gift tags.
Yes, you heard me right.

Every year, around the middle of December, I start scurrying around. Digging wildly through all of the beautiful Christmas papers and embellishments that I have horded over the years. I start frantically looking at ideas that I have saved throughout the year. I start trying to come up with something pretty to adorn the presents that I have put so much thought into making and purchasing. At no avail, I give up, I throw my arms in the air in defeat because I do not have enough time to make what I want to make.

Well, not this year! This year, I decided I am going to make some pretty gift tags before putting away all of the Christmas stuff. So, this is what I made today when I was trying to find something productive to do.

First, I cut a bunch of pretty papers with my Stampin' Up! Top Note die for the Big Shot.
Then I cut those pieces and layered them and added rub-ons, stickers, ribbons, eyelets and brads.

Sure, I have lots more to make and hopefully, I won't wait till the last minute. But, if I do, I will still have all of these pretty tags that were NOT made in a frenzy but rather made with lots of love and care in my stress free mode. All I really have to do with them now is tie them on with a pretty bow.

I am so proud of myself.

Geeze, I sure hope I don't lose them before next Christmas. Argh!

Half way there

Well this is a good start at cleaning up The Studio.
Actually, there is much more clean than these 2 pictures show but I ran out of time to post more.
I even cleaned up my computer desktop and hard drive.
Wow! This is a great way to start the year!
Someday, I will give you a walk-through with some details
as to what all is in here.
I LOVE my place. It is a dream come true!
Well, gotta take my daughter to the doctor today so, TTYS! XO, Mimi

Annual Santa Shots

Every year I take the girls down to the local mall for photos with Santa. They try to dress similar and Katie helps Maggie do her hair and treats her to a little mascara and lipstick.
I love this tradition.
I have a little book that I keep all of the Santa shots in so that I can look back and see how much they have changed from year to year.
This year, we waited a little long. Since Katie doesn't live at home anymore, it is harder to get together at a good time.
We tried to get her boyfriend's little boy to sit with Santa but he would have no part of that!
Hope you had a wonderful and safe holiday season.
XO, Mimi
